NEW THIS FALL ON SUNDAY MORNINGS! 10-10:45 a.m., beginning September 10th
¶ RAISING FAMILIES TODAY (Scout Hall) Geared to young families. Taught by John & Maranda Kirk. Every generation claims theirs is the toughest in which to raise a family, but with the spreading of new technologies, social media, the advancement of a pluralistic culture, the shrinking of the church’s influence in our neighborhoods, today’s generation might be the unfortunate winner. How do you navigate raising a family in today’s reality? You go to your grandparent’s parenting class! This class will look at some of the strong family values of old to see how they can teach a new generation how to raise a family.
¶ THE CASE FOR CHRIST (Parlor) Taught by Jason McClendon. Is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God? Skeptics dismiss the Jesus of the Gospels by claiming there is no evidence in the case for Christ. Lee Strobel disagrees. The former legal journalist and one-time atheist knows how to ask tough questions. His own search for truth about Jesus led him to faith in Christ. Journey along with Strobel on a quest for the truth about Jesus. Rejecting easy answers, you will sift through fascinating historical evidence as you weigh compelling expert testimony. In the end, groups may very well see Jesus in a new way—and even, like Strobel, find their life transformed.
¶ SHARING JESUS WITHOUT FEAR (Parlor) beginning 11/1 Taught by Jason McClendon. In recent years, the Share Jesus without Fear book and its growing family of ancillary products have sparked a faith-sharing movement that continues to gain momentum. It began with the jaw-dropping story of William Fay, once a money-driven businessman with Mafia ties who ran a house of prostitution until it was raided by police. Facing the threat of jail time, Fay turned to Jesus Christ for redemption and ever since has been turning others to Him as well. Now featuring a fresh new cover design, Share Jesus without Fear relays Fay's passionate, effective instructions on how to share the love of Christ with anyone--without feeling intimidated on either side of the conversation. Bold and joyful, the outreach movement continues without fear.
