The Saint Andrew’s UMC Youth Group visited Enchanted Rock on Saturday, August 13th, 2016. Arriving at just after 9:30am, we were fortunate to have good weather, slightly overcast, but the temperature stayed in the mid-80’s. There the youth treaked the 0.6 miles to the top of the granite dome. Line of sight was a long, long, LONG ways. The youth were amazed at just how far they could see from the top of Enchanted Rock. Then the youth wanted to explore the area and visit the various caves between large boulders found on the side of Enchanted Rock. Once near the caves, the youth found it would be more difficult to climb back to the top of Enchanted Rock and go down to the entrance, than it would be to continue down the side of Enchanted Rock to Echo Canyon. After 45 minutes of trial and error, the youth managed to overcome fear and doubt as they attempted many paths down the side of Enchated Rock before finding a path that led safely down. The youth grew as a group, helping each other find the safest way down and helping those that were doubting their abilities, and grew individually as they conquered the descent down the side of Enchanted Rock. All in all it was a great day and a fun, crazy, nerve-rack, blast of a good time, and the youth are looking forward to their next outting.

St. Andrew's Youth helping Church Under the Bridge
The youth of St. Andrew's has partnered with Crafty Christians to help Church Under the Bridge. These two organizations are making 250 scarves and bags for Church Under the Bridge. On Tuesday, August 9, the teens met, took T-Shirts, and converted them into bags.
More shirts are welcomed. Drop off any extra T-Shirts to the church office.
If you are interested in sponsoring dinner for the Youth, call the church office at 210-824-2465 to sign up.
